Program Summary

In today’s tight labor market, employers are finding it difficult to find qualified workers.  Yet, there is a qualified labor pool of talent that employers are often concerned to hire – workers with criminal backgrounds. Join us Tuesday, August 6, 2019 as we look at the risks, benefits, and ROI of hiring workers with criminal backgrounds and help employers look at this untapped talent from a fresh perspective.

Workshop Goals

  • Educate employers on the legal considerations of hiring including compliance, risk analysis, and background checks
  • Share information about programs available in McHenry County to support and assist persons with criminal records re-enter the workforce.
  • Discuss resources available to employers who train and hire these individuals including tax credits and other incentives.
  • Share employer best practices through success stories from employers.
